6 Things to Do on the South Bank this Summer

Our South Bank home is never dull, thanks to a whole host of pop-up events and exhibitions that arrive on the banks of the Thames throughout the year. This summer we’re about to welcome lots of new experiences, and the return of some popular pop-ups from 2014 too. Here’s our pick of the best ones to watch out for.

Wed 10 Jun 2015–Sun 6 Sep 2015
Hayward Gallery

Carsten Höller: Decision is the artist’s largest survey show in the UK to date. The exhibition, which sprawls across Hayward Gallery and erupts beyond its roof and walls, explores perception and decision-making. Confronting visitors with a series of choices, it features mirrors, disconcerting doubles and mysterious objects which together create an impression of a world where nothing is quite as it seems.

London Wonderground at Southbank Centre
Thu 18 Jun 2015–Thu 17 Sep 2015

One of our production partner Fullcircle’s entertainers, Miss Polly Rae, will be at the London Wonderground this summer. Celebrating all things ‘in the bedroom’ Between The Sheets is a visually stunning, hilarious and risqué romp, bursting with a dynamite mix of song, dance, comedy, circus and glorious innuendo. Read more about it here.

Mon 17 Aug 2015–Sun 30 Aug 2015

The summer pop-up is back for another year of secret garden inspired fun. OXO2 will bring the outside in, with kitsch garden decor creating the atmosphere of suburbia in the heart of the capital. Customers can chill out in deck chairs whilst enjoying a cocktail or two, or, for the more energetic and competitive, there are ping pong tables and giant Jenga available.
