Summer 2017 on London’s South Bank – find out what’s happening!

Here are some excellent events to look out for on the South Bank in summer 2017. There’s plenty on offer for people of all ages – from festivals to barbecues.

Sea Life After Dark

Taking place until September 9th, ‘Sea Life After Dark’ is at the London Aquarium near the London Eye. Head underneath the surface for a special VIP late opening, which begins with a free welcome glass of Prosecco. This event is for adults age 18 and over, and includes entrance to the aquarium and the drink. See the sharks, jellyfish and other aquatic species just inches from your feet, then head to the Pacific Wreck display for a nice cocktail at the bar.

The Underbelly Festival

Held until the end of September, the Underbelly Festival offers a fantastic array of family entertainment in the coming months, from circus acts and comedy to live music and children’s shows. Top acts include Driftwood (May 4 – June 4), an award-winning Australian circus group known for their breathtaking acrobatic skills, and Quebecois group Catch Me (Attrape Moi) (May 17 – July 19) with their mesmerising juggling, hula-hopping and other adrenaline-pumping moves.

English National Opera: The Dream Of Gerontius

On July 1 and July 2, this concert showcases the choral work for voices and orchestra by one of Britain’s finest composers, the Worcestershire-born Edward Elgar. The Dream of Gerontius was composed to texts from a poem by London-born John Henry Newman, an Anglican priest.

This event is held at the Royal Festival Hall, just a short walk from our venue OXO2.

The Snow Frozen Yogurt Bus

The Snow Frozen Yogurt Bus offers irresistible, natural, fresh and fat-free yogurts with a choice of five delicious flavours. The unique bus has superb views of the Thames from its upper deck, which features an open terrace above a hydraulically raised roof. This psychedelic attraction is open every day until September 29th at Queen’s Walk, adjacent to Hungerford Bridge.

The BBQ Club & Bar

Open from May 12 to September 24, the BBQ Club & Bar at Queen’s Walk will offer tantalising gourmet BBQ dishes and a great selection of British drinks. For something extra special, dine at the rooftop section, where you can treat yourself to a mouthwatering tasting menu and admire the wonderful views of the Thames.
